Help build the future
What makes SHELTER, Inc. unique?
SHELTER, Inc. provides vital community programs. Everything we do is guided by a belief that people need a hand up, not a hand out. We believe in the importance of nonjudgment. We offer the tools and resources needed to restore the dignity that is lost when someone loses their ability to provide life’s basic necessities. And we place a special focus on children because all kids deserve a strong start in life.
Today we provide a range of supportive services that may start with emergency housing, in addition to case management, counseling, and employment services—all intended to move individuals and families into permanent housing. We approach homelessness proactively through short-term rental assistance for the working poor, who are often just one crisis away from losing their homes. We also provide affordable housing to vulnerable residents, such as disabled persons and veterans, many of whom could not otherwise secure housing.
Tomorrow we will adapt to a changing environment and to the complex and shifting needs of the individuals and families we serve. And tomorrow is why your planned gift to SHELTER, Inc. is so important. Planning a gift to SHELTER, Inc. today will make you an integral part of the health and stability of our community—in the future and potentially forever.
The Laila Galloway Legacy Society is a group of extraordinary men and women who are deeply committed to preventing and ending homelessness in their community. They have demonstrated their belief in the work and mission of SHELTER, Inc. by setting up planned gifts.
